About being our Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, you'll provide technical and administrative support while serving as the liaison with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, design professionals, operations/maintenance personnel, and regulatory agencies at the City of Sunnyvale's Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) located in the Silicon Valley. The ongoing projects are part of a series of planned upgrades and expansions at the WPCP, including new Secondary Treatment/Dewatering Facilities and the Rehabilitation of existing facilities over the next 5+ years. Based on Sunnyvale's overall Program, this is a long-term project with potential for growth.
Responsibility Highlights for our Project Engineer
Daily interactions/coordination with owner, designer, contractors, inspectors and regulatory agenciesManaging the construction documentation process, including RFIs, submittals, change management, estimating, scheduling, and reportingSupporting efforts with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changesFacilitating project delivery with the resolution of project issues in a fair and firm mannerPreparing daily and weekly project status reports as well as oversight of field inspection daily reportsCoordinating and supervising field const uction management staff and their activities with other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants as directedSupport project labor compliance effortsMinimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline5 to 10 years of related work experience including managing the construction or being involved with the engineering design of wastewater treatment facilities, public works infrastructure, and heavy civil projectsKnowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specificationsAbility to work independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision and manage deadlinesAbility to work on-site in a construction trailer or building; ability to walk on uneven surfaces, stand, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, and enter confined spaces; tolerate heat, cold, dirt, odors, and other construction hazards may existPreferred Qualifications for our Project Engineer
