About Construction Manager

  Reference #: 1110986800Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Construction Manager to lead the CP Construction team!

  The Construction Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for providing support to construction superintendents, estimators, project managers, foremen, operators, and technicians established in the Cathodic Protection industry. Responsibilities include development and implementation of process and procedures to safely install, monitor, and maintain client corrosion control. Collaborate with Key, Emerging and Core teams to enhance client development to support vertical, horizontal and regional growth. Develop and monitor training for Corrosion Control team members to ensure continual development of skills. In concert with the Director of Corrosion Control, develop short- and long-term business plan that align with LSC vision and values.

  Responsibiliites:Be an advocate for safe work practices by ensuring superintendent and crews understanding and complying with construction and excavation safety practices and policiesEnsure all employees part of the CP construction team understand construction and excavation safety practices and policiesProvide SME support for business development opportunitiesParticipate in hiring new employees and aid in forecasting of upcoming needs, as well as determining when sub-contractors will be requiredCollaborate with other work with other LSC team for business development opportunities.Work with project managers and engineers from project inception to ensure constructability is reviewedFor projects LSC is designing and constructing, the Construction Supervisorwill complete the site visit with the project engineer prior to commencing the design to ensure constructabilityWorking with superintendents to ensure personnel qualification requirements, permitting, client schedule, one calls, and client specific ground disturbance policies are being met for all projects.Monitor to ensure proper reporting and construction tracking policies and proceduresMonitor to ensures employees comply with all DOT driving requirementsSupport the Superintendent(s) to ensure LSC has all proper equipment to prepare for and complete construction activitiesWhen required based on complexity or availability, travel to the job site to kick off construction work and ensure team members understand the design and scope of workOutline and implement training regarding company/client/industry processes, equipment, and technologyMonitor to ensure CPC is working with other supervisors, schedulers and business lines to efficiently staff and oversee projectsFacilitate OQ evaluationsWork with employees on advancing technical comprehension and professional growthWork closely with employees to ensure growth is aligned with the goals of the IM team and the organizationOversee implementation and testing of new processes, equipment, and construction methodsAdvanced troubleshooting support for techniciansEnsure adherence to company and client policies and expectationsConduct annual performance reviews for direct reportsReview and approve weekly time and expense sheets, for direct reportsResponsible for overall utilization of employees with respect to Company goalsAbility to identify and follow up on project opportunities for all business lines within the companyRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentDOT health cardMinimum of 5 years of construction experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in the field of corrosion control5 or more years related industry experienceLeadership and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build positive working relationshipsKnowledge of ethical behavior, business practices, and goals of the organizationWell organized and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writingAnalytical skills with ability to dissect problems and quickly develop solutionsUnderstands evolving construction practices and standa dsCreativity to develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organizationKnowledge of applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements (CFR 49 Part 192 & 195)Extensive knowledge of NACE standards and test methodsIntermediate proficiency with MS OfficeJoin an entrepreneurial team of dedicated engineering and technical service consultants that work to improve and strengthen our critical energy infrastructure.
