[Portzen Construction Inc. located at 205 Stone Valley Drive Dubuque, IA 52003, (563) 557-7642 is seeking 8 temporary full-time Construction laborers to work at 2650 Old Highway Rd Dickeyville, WI,[53808, South Central Wisconsin Nonmetropolitan Area, Western Wisconsin Nonmetropolitan Area.
From 04/01/2024 to 12/31/2024 to Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
[Tasks include:
[Installing footings, foundations, and concrete floors. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
[Work with a foreman or project superintendent to successfully complete projects from start to finish. Ability to understand concrete and methods of installation and construction. Good Understanding of basic math, ability to learn and follow directions. Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times. Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds for 25 yards.
[Must be able to handle extreme temperatures. No prior education or experience is required. On the job, training will be provided. Must be able to obtain a drivers license. Pre-employment fit for duty (physical) and drug screen required.
[$27.68/hr. Approx. 40 hours/week, from Monday - Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm.[Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised. The wage rate may vary on experience and/or merit. $41.52/hr for overtime. Up to 5 hours of overtime may be available but not guaranteed.
[All deductions from the workers paycheck will be made as required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay Weekly by check. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee. The employer will provide housing as an option toemployees living outside the regular commuting distance. Employees who elect to live in the housing will have an additional $75.00 deducted Weekly paycheck for rent and utilities. Optional daily transportation will be provided from and to the worksite and the employer will deduct $10.00 weekly.
[In the first workweek, the cost of transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be directly reimbursed to every worker. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the workers reasonablecosts of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment.
[The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. In the first workweek, daily subsistence for travel to the place of employment will be reimbursed at a rate of at least $15.46/day to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts.
