As a Construction Intern, this person willbe an integral part of our project teams, taking on complex tasks andresponsibilities, and contributing to the success of a range of projects andinitiatives, ranging in size, scope, and value.Learning OpportunitiesProject Management:Assist with project controls, change orders, RFI's, and otherconstruction administration duties.Prepare look ahead schedules with information from subcontractors.Assist in generation of various reports such as submittal and RFI logs, andwith document control.Process Submittals and RFIs.Update working drawings with RFIs and Changes. Keep this set up to date toensure the team is working with the most current information.Perform simple calculations.Provide technical support for construction effortProject Scheduling:Assist in creating and updating construction schedules, incorporatingchanges, delays, and unforeseen circumstancesMonitor project progress and identify areas where adjustments may be neededAssist in analyzing project data to identify ways to optimize schedulingefficiencySupport the scheduling team in providing accurate and timely reports tomanagement and stakeholdersEstimating:Support cost estimates on proposals, projects, and studies to help ensurethat the content of the estimate is complete, accurate, and meets therequirements of the Estimating Team.Review solicitation documents such as specifications and drawings to learn howto identify risks and opportunities related to competitive pricing.Assist the Estimating Team with an independent assessment of an estimate'saccuracy (upon completion of the estimate and summarization of all detailedman-hours, material, construction, and home office costs).Help coordinate the performance of pricing structure development andapplication to takeoffs, derived quantities, quantity assumption, andcost allowances.Obtain and verify construction quotations for facilitation of constructionprojects, addenda, and contract changes.Compile and analyze bids.Help develop reports for all review processes.Actively research and solicit supply chain vendors for information.Basic QualificationsIn progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management,Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marketing, orrelated degExperienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing andcommunications skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments withstaff, clients, and stakeholders.Experience with/aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes.Preferred QualificationsPrior internship experience in the AEC industry.CompensationThe anticipated salary for this position is between $23 - 26/hr.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.Please note that all positions require pre-employment screening, includingdrug and background check, as a condition of employment.#LI-AW1#LI-Onsite
