Jobs in this career family support students' emotional and physical well-being and intellectual, cultural and social development outside the context of the formal instruction program or traditional academic unit. Functions include student counseling, career guidance, residence life, multicultural affairs, support of student activities and organizations, recreation services and intramural athletics administration.
Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
Nature of Work:
CU Denver's Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards (SCCS) serves as a resource to the entire university community through its efforts to meet the developmental and educational needs of students related to community expectations, civility, and respect for self and others. The SCCS supports efforts to foster and maintain the safety of the Auraria Campus
Examples of Work Performed:
This position will implement CU Denver's Student Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity Policy, and Disruptive Behavior Policy
The Conduct Educator will facilitate all aspects of adjudication, including but not limited to, leading one-on-one conferences with students to resolve student conduct issues, Supporting the resolution of academic integrity allegations, facilitating the utilization of restorative justice circles, and informal resolutions.
Adhere to best practice for due process standards for adjudicating student conduct cases that are aligned with Colorado State Statutes and federal laws.
Work with the Director of Student Conduct to improve case resolution processes and outcomes.
Maintain files on all assigned cases, track sanctions and conduct investigations as necessary in Maxient.
Provide guidance for faculty, staff, and other campus partners in managing student conduct concerns on campus.
Provide support in the development and advancing of the department's philosophy, mission, and programs.
Provide training and workshops for all levels of campus partners related to the processes and services provided by SCCS.
Participate on committees within student affairs and the university, as applicable.
Other duties as assigned by the Director.
*This position is eligible for periodic remote work
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring range (or salary range) for this position has been established at $47,953 - $53,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in education, social science, psychology, higher education, counseling, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
1 or more years of relevant professional experience, including work in student conduct or conflict resolution, higher education, residential life, or another related field. Professional experience includes full-time employment, and graduate internships
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Conditions of Employment:
This position is funded for three (3) Years. Continued employment for this position after 3 years will be dependent upon securement of future funding.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in education, social science, psychology, higher education, counseling, student affairs, or a directly related field
1 year experience working on a college campus
1 year experience in student conduct
1 year experience working on a residential campus in a housing position.
Experience volunteering or working with a restorative justice program, or specialized training within restorative justice and/or conflict resolution practices.
Competencies
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the concepts of student development, substance abuse and addictions, student rights and responsibilities, due process, legal issues related to campus judicial programs, victim's rights and needs, and University policy and procedure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and private information.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative and collegial working relationships.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
