This position reports to the Concrete Foreman and may take direction from the Project Superintendent and Trade Superintendent. Closely interacts with other trade persons.RESPONSIBILITIES:Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using float to bring water to surface and produce soft toppingLevel, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straightedge and float or power screedFinish concrete surfaces, using power trowel, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finishRemove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, using power grinder or chisel and hammerPatch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compoundMay sprinkle joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedgeMay direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of formsMay specialize in finishing steps and stairwaysOther related duties upon requestMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or GEDCompletion of apprenticeship program or an equivalent 4-6 years of concrete finishing experienceValid driver's license and clean driving recordMust be able to life and carry objects weighing 50-100 lbsMust be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heightsMust be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffoldingMust be able to read and understand measuring tools and levelsMust be able to follow specific directions'Must be able to compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objectsBenefits:CK Construction offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, life, and disability insurance, paid time off and a 401K plan.CK Construction is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
