DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Administrative Officer 2, you will be directing and coordinating facility and equipment maintenance, space allocation or planning, internal mail distribution, and physical records retention for all DHS program and support offices. This includes:Ensuring all DHS employees are supplied with proper equipment, furniture, and facility-related needsServing as the primary point of contact with Allegheny County Maintenance DepartmentWorking with the DHS Fixed Assets Officer to coordinate the purchase, delivery and/or relocation of all fixed assetsAssisting with lease development in conjunction with the Allegheny County Law Department and building landlordsManaging the Recycling Account for all DHS locations.
You will have the opportunity to manage the facilities management staff and serve as a liaison with other county departments, subcontractors and vendors. Duties include planning, organizing, assigning, and evaluating the work of facilities management staff. Being able to prioritize work assignments is essential to maximize productivity and efficiency for the team. You will also be conducting staff performance reviews, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting weekly staff meetings, as well as providing cross-training to staff. You will be working closely with human resources on recruitment and retention and employee relations needs.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as an Administrative Officer 1; orThree years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County.
