Summary About the Position: The primary purpose of a Computer Assisted Ordering Technician is to maintain accurate perpetual inventory balance on hand (BOH) levels which in turn determines optimum ordering quantities and ensures product availability for patrons in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. This is a temporary not to exceed one year position, that MAY be converted to a permanent position. Responsibilities Works with the store stocking supervisor and crew members (both contracted and in-house) to integrate and maintain the CAO system. Interfaces with all levels of store management on CAO issues as needed, and deals directly with commercial distributor representative and vendor stocking representatives on issues affecting CAO. Evaluates stock levels of all CAO categories daily, by physically reviewing the storage and display shelf locations, shippers and warehouse. The incumbent maintains the CAO system with current, accurate data to ensure optimal order quantities are calculated necessary to sustain customer demands. This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
