Work involves testing software products and release versions; assisting with system implementations; troubleshooting basic software problems, assisting customers with hardware and software problems. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Work Hours40-hour week, Monday Friday. Must be able to work an eight-hour schedule between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm with occasional work schedule variance when necessary. Occasionally work overtime and/or additional hours based on business peaks. Hours may change based on business needs.Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 1day/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university, or a recent graduate within one year. Professional or academic experience working with Mainframe system administrationPreferred Qualifications Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university, or a recent graduate within one year with a major in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems. Experience working with JCL and working with an IBM mainframe Experience working with various software running on a mainframe to include zOS, CICS, Cobol, and/or other mainframe software. Experience using TSO/ISPFIn this role you will: Assist with analyzing new and existing procedures, mainframe systems and components, vendor product installation efficiency and effectiveness. Assist with testing and diagnosing vendor and mainframe system software to ensure critical requirements are met. Assist with designing, modifying, and implementing new or revised system processes to serve new purposes or improvements. Assist with the analysis of mainframe data and/or processes and prepare presentation material in the form of documents, requirements, charts, tables, and/or graphs. Assist in analyzing or trouble-shooti g issues related to the mainframe systems. Assist with the support and resolution of reported issues. Assist with providing consulting support and making recommendations for information technology issues. Assist with the monitoring of mainframe performance and utilization. Assist with monitoring vendor communication for advisories and PTFs. Assist with supporting various vendor products, providing solutions to others in need of assistance. Assist with resetting printer configurations to resolve issues. Assist with providing support, making recommendations related to mainframe software languages.
