  Summary of Responsibilities

  The compensation specialist oversees every aspect of the bonus programs including planning and evaluating, implementing, communicating, and daily administration. This role will provide compensation support to aligned business units and manage compensation projects, processes, and requests.

  Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

  · Administer, implement, and communicate all property bonus plans

  · Identify, recommend, and implement ongoing process improvements for the property bonus plan

  · Create, distribute, and track all annual corporate bonus documents

  · Respond and create salary survey inquiries by property management

  · Oversee the fiver fund initiatives (participation, annual drives, etc.)

  · Analyze compensation data to evaluate the competitiveness of the compensation structure

  · Manage ongoing compensation processes and procedures

  · Keep up to date with the labor market to be aware of policies on pay rates

  · Oversee salary survey participation

  · Responsible for creating new job descriptions and updating current job descriptions

  · Collaborate with benefits and HR teams

  · Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  · Perform other duties as assigned

  Education and Experience

  · Bachelor’s degree is required

  · Five or more years of experience in human resources is required

  · Two to five years of experience in compensation preferred

  · One to two years of property management experience is preferred

  · Certification in human resources (HRCI or SHRM) is preferred

  Skills and Requirements

  · Very strong organizational, detail orientation, and time-management skills

  · Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management effectively and sensitively

  · Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  · Sensitivity to confidential matters is required

  · Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency

  · Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English

  · Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others

  · Positive demeanor and excellent professional judgment

  · Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned

  Scheduling

  · Required to maintain a regular schedule which may also require working outside of regular schedule, weekends, and non-traditional holidays

  Environment

  · Exposure to environment typically found in an office building

  Physical Requirements

  · Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction

  · Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound

  · Visual requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision

  · Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct

  · Ability to tolerate stressful situations

  · Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision
