Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Director for Residential Experiences andindirectly to the Director of Residential Operations, the Community Director(CD) assumes leadership of their assigned areas, directly supervising,training, and evaluating a team comprising a Resident Director, GraduateResident Director, and indirectly supervising approximately 17 studentstaff. The CD is responsible for guiding the implementation of HREsResidential Education Model (REM), fostering student leadershipopportunities, supporting housing operations, and nurturing a vibrantsocial environment that cultivates a sense of belonging, well-being, andsafety
This position is a full-time exempt live-in role spanning 12 months.
Essential Functions
Leadership & Supervision
Directly supervise, develop, and evaluate a team consisting of aResident Director, Graduate Resident Director, and indirectly supervise 17student staff.Create and facilitate training and developmental opportunities forprofessional and graduate staff.Regularly provide formal and informal feedback regarding job performance.Establish and maintain a culture of accountability and professional &personal growth.Ensure that essential functions of assigned areas are maintained duringperiods of absence.Facilitate regular meetings and one-on-ones with area teams and directreports.Serve as primary contact for residents, parents, families, and campuspartners for assigned areas.Community Development & Student Leadership
Oversee the implementation of HRE's Residential Education Model (REM)for assigned areas, including integration of DU's 4D Student Experience.
In collaboration with key campus partners, facilitate co-curricularopportunities such as living and learning communities, affinity housing,or residential learning communities.Plan and support community-wide events for assigned areas.Regularly assess student experiences, engagement, and development forassigned areas.Student Care & Conduct
Serve as a Case Resolution Officer for the Office of Student Rights &Responsibilities (SRR), investigating and adjudicating potentialviolations of the Honor Code or Community Standards.
Serve as a Case Manager for the Office of Student Care & Outreach(SOS), p oviding support for students with wellness or well-being needs.Regularly review incident reports and referrals for assigned areas andcoordinate additional responses as necessary.On-Call
Serve on Senior Administrator-on-Call (SAOC) rotation, supportingcritical incident and crisis response for the DU community.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key campus partners and leadershipin the event of a crisis or critical incident.Provide consultation to professional and student on-call staff.Operations & Facilities Management
Regularly coordinate inspection of facilities in assigned areas to monitorfor safety concerns and maintenance needs.
Assist with project management and implementation of operational processesincluding assistance with opening & closing, transitional periods, theearly arrival program, and coordination of break and summer housing.Support the damage billing process utilizing the StarRez housing software.In collaboration with the Residential Operations team, support room changeperiods and other administrative actions.
