INCOMING LAB TECH

　　Description

　　The Laboratory Incoming Lab Technician is responsible for all incoming chemicals except for tanker receiving. The Technician is responsible for analysis of raw materials using FTIR, pH meter pycnometer, melting point apparatus, etc. and completion of required documentation. Must be able to check incoming paperwork to be sure all documentation is accurate and complete. The employee will need to perform diversified inspections on the incoming chemical materials. They will need to be able to sample the chemicals and provide the correct testing process for the chemical release. The technician will be able to handle normal Lab Technician duties when there are no chemicals to test. They will be required to comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to the quality improvement process and interface and communicate within the department.

　　Job Functions:

　　The employee is responsible for analysis of bulk product and finished product using the viscometer, pH meter, pycnometer, penetrometer, etc. and completion of required documentation.

　　The employee issues the release documentation for raw material and bulk product.

　　The employee performs Job Receipt and Job Closure

　　The employee conducts a laboratory audit of the production lines and completion of required documentation

　　High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC)

　　The employee performs calibration on all equipment

　　Labeling of incoming raw materials with GHS labels

　　Incoming Inspectors are responsible for the disposition of releases by placing approval stickers to each pallet, rejections by putting reject stickers on rejected products with the rejection report including, but not limited to any and all special handling instructions for the line

　　Requirements

　　To perform this position, the employee must be able to read and write English, do mathematical calculations, and read measuring equipment.

　　Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service.

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal management

　　Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
