Job Description:The Communication Center Specialist supports clients byanswering incoming calls and dispatching communications in a professionalmanner. This role supports additional communication support as needed byassigned facility.
Job DetailsDemonstrates professional customer centric phone protocol through timelyanswering of calls, respectful communications, actively listening torequest and directing caller to appropriate locations/personnel.Ability to work with multiple computer programs efficiently in a fast pacedenvironment, while paying attention to detail.Provides timely and accurate paging of personnel and physicians,configuration and programming of pagers and paging system to provideservice, utilization of call reminders, documenting inconsistencies andnotes as required to provide continuity of service between shifts.Maintains a working knowledge of the radio systems and their specific purposeas demonstrated through monitoring and use of Console and handheld radios.Responds to all emergency calls and alarms efficiently, calmly andaccurately following documented procedures for each occurrence. Ensuresaccuracy of information and clear, concise communication.Develops and maintains knowledge of medical terminology to ensure calls arerouted properly and recognize a potential need to escalate the call.Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Communication Center disaster plan toinclude contingencies for phone, computer, network, overhead paging andradio systems.Actively participates in department meetings and associate engagement eventsand the development and review of departmental standards.Sets goals and objectives consistent with the organization's goals anddevelops effective action plans for their achievement.Complete shift duties and accurately communicate and document daily issues andevents to co-workers.Maintains a working knowledge of the use and process for loaning of equipmentwhich includes; language barrier phones, cell phone charges, conferencephones, and other resources.Provides assistance and accurate documentation with vocera and patient roomphone replacements, inventory and ordering.
