About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Commis 2 Chef which will be anticipate and meet guest's needs and requests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction from pre arrival through departure, and recognize all returning and VIP guests.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
The main responsibilities are:
Responsible for completing the daily checklist of mise-en-place and food storage
Ensure that the food items are stocked properly in refrigerators and freezers
Document inventory of kitchen supplies, and notifying supervisors of low stock situations
Follow daily ingredient collection, storage of all items used within the respective kitchen and ensure all areas of section are maintained and cleaned following established standards
Work to the specifications received by the respective culinary team regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index
Attend daily meetings with the Demi Chef (Chef De Partie) and other meetings as requested by the Executive chef/Executive sous chef
Organize together with the Demi Chef (Chef De Partie) shifting in the section with regard to mise-en-place production and its service
Take orders from their Demi Chef (Chef De Partie) and carry them out in the correct manner
Work to the specifications received by the Demi Chef (Chef De Partie) regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Completed kitchen apprentice or chefs training courses for at least one year.
Experience in the same position in a luxury 5* hotel or a renowned restaurant.
Demonstrate passion for quality and cooking.
Fluent in English.
