What We DoIn this role, the Commercial Title Examiner will search public records and examine complex titles to determine legal condition of property title, primarily for commercial properties, in addition to copy or summarize recorded documents, which affect the condition of title to the property.This is a remote position where you will work independently and use experience to examine complex titles to real property, to determine status and establish chain of title.

What You'll DoResponsible for preparing various types of title reportsFamiliar with all aspects of title workResponsible for performing complete title examination and examine the chain of title primarily for commercial transactionsAbstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions, verify legal description of property and completeness of recordsResolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information contained in the title documentationPrepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelinesPrepares and reviews reports for accuracyMay provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelinesObtain document copies from county websites and imaging systemsPerform online researchFollow preestablished First American search and exam guidelines
