　　Our team is searching for a Technical Service Specialist to work with some of the largest Body Shop organizations in the market through paint application process development, correct application of products through teaching & hands on demonstrations and helping the sales team convert new business. You will work closely with the sales team to make sure our distribution partners are properly trained and can effectively sell and position our product offerings against competitive product lines. In addition, you will work with the Business Development and Sales team to ensure identified Body Shop KPI’s are achieved. The geographical area for this role encompasses 60% travel across the Chicagoland area, Indiana and occassional travel to Michigan (Lansing/Kalamazoo).

　　As a Technical Service Representative, you create chemistry by…

　　Being responsible for the technical success of BASF’s automotive refinish products. Solve/troubleshoot with customers.

　　Working on coating technologies including solvent-borne base coat/clear coat systems, OEM paint approval process, and specifications for shops throughout Northern Illinois and Wisconsin.

　　Training and developing our Body Shop and Distribution customers.

　　Making process improvement recommendations that can be highly valuable to end users.

　　Helping be more proficient in product application, selling and implementing new products, and generating a positive experience with BASF-branded products.

　　Adding value to our customers through root cause analysis, trouble-shooting technical applications, and color match issues.

　　Participating in the technical aspect of the sales process.

　　Leading presentations that are focused on introducing new products to the market and support a better understanding of BASF-branded products.

　　If you...

　　HS Diploma or equivalent required.

　　At least 7 + years of industry experience.

　　Understanding of competitive products and tools.

　　Ability to communicate effectively.

　　Microsoft Office tools and CRM expertise is a plus.
