Job Title: Collection Specialist

Job Description:

The Collection Specialist is responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts from clients and customers. The goal is to ensure the company's revenues are secured in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

Monitor accounts on a regular basis for overdue payments.

Research and resolve payment discrepancies.

Make collection calls and emails in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.

Manage customer payment plans and negotiate with past-due accounts for resolution.

Resolve client discrepancies and short payments.

Prepare and present reports on collection activity and accounts receivable status.

Coordinate with legal department to initiate legal processes for debt recovery where necessary.

Comply with all federal and state collection and related laws and regulations.

Requirements

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role.

Knowledge of billing procedures, collection techniques, and legal regulations related to collections.

Proficient in using business management and accounting software.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.

High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

Skilled in dealing with stressful situations calmly and professionally.

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant field will be considered a plus.

The Collection Specialist should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness while prioritizing outstanding debts and ensuring customers maintain positive relations with our company. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to work independently.
