TITLE: Cognitive Program Facilitator

PERCENTAGE OF TIME ACCOUNTABILITIES
65 1. Prepares and facilitates evidence-based programs to adult
offenders on probation struggling with Opioid Use Disorder
(OUD) and co-occurring Substance Use Disorder (SUD);
Handles day to day tasks associated with providing cognitive
education programming; Meet with offenders individually to
conduct CBI exercises such as thinking reports, safety plans,
behavioral chains, etc.; Assist clients seeking clinical treatment
services using warm handoffs to ensure success; Provide
services utilizing a wrap-around trauma-informed approach;

25 2. Prepares written and oral reports; communicates progress
with each respective referring agency or probation officer and
the court; collect and analyze data regarding program
participant outcomes; participate in observational fidelity audits;
research additional evidence-based interventions and grants to
expand recovery services;
5 3. Assists officers with transporting offenders to clinical
treatment programs or to complete community service work
programs;
5 4. Complete 40 hours of annual training each year;
SCOPE:
Reports to the Community Corrections director. Facilitatesevidence-based programs to adult
offenders under the supervision of the court and Community Correctionsprobation. Must be
knowledgeable of all county rules and regulations, state regulations,law and procedures relating to
juvenile services. Prepare to facilitate programs to fidelity, must bewilling to work a few late evenings
a month to accommodate working offenders and provide programs after 4pm.Collaborate with
community service and treatment providers as well as any programaffiliated with Community
Corrections to maintain positive working relationships and improveprogram efficiency. This position
is grant funded.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:(*Required prior to employment)
1. Knowledge of the laws and regulations concerning communitycorrections;
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing*;
3. Ability to see and read laws and regulations*;
4. Possession or retention of a valid drivers license*;
5. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check*;
6. Ability to pass a Kansas Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registrationcheck*
HUMAN RELATIONS:(*Required prior to employment)
1. Ability to work with adult offenders who may be experiencing trauma,mental health crisis, or
actively struggling with addiction*;
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationshipswith public officials, employees
and public*.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work,Criminology/Criminal Justice, or a related
behavioral science degree. Additional experience facilitating programsor working with adults
struggling with Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Trauma, or Co-OccurringDisorders preferred.
ADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
