JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position: CNC Tool Grinder - 3rd Shift Location:Brookfield, WI Job Id: 217 # of Openings: 1 SUMMARY OF POSITION: TheCNC Universal Grinder is responsible to set up and operate universal CNCgrinding machines to perform a variety of complex machining operationsto close tolerance customer specifications. Perform frequent changeoversfor small quantity custom orders. Maximize production efficienciesthrough simultaneous operation of more than one machine. PRINCIPALRESPONSIBLITIES: Receive and review work assignments; verify that workpieces and routing match regarding count, type and proper sequence.Follow established procedures for machine set up, including; selectproper grind wheels, bushings, collets and programs to be use; inputtool and set up values; grind first piece, inspect, adjust as needed andobtain approval from leadworker or supervisor when process has beencompleted. Set up and operate multiple machines as needed. Enter allproduction information into the data collection system. Monitorequipment performance; report problems and request required maintenanceto avoid unnecessary downtime and machine damage or repairs. Perform allother duties as assigned. Responsible for keeping area clean at alltimes. EDUCATION: Three to five years related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experiencepreferred or willing to train on 1st shift for 6-12 months to learnmachine operations. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Previous experience with basicmachine operation or related technical training. One year of directmachine setup and operation experience. Previous experience involvingprinciples of grinding. Must be able to read, understand and followwritten instructions and shop drawings. Above average math skills. Mustbe able to calculate appropriate machine settings and adjustaccordingly. Must have good math and trigonometry skills. Must be ableto use required precision measuring and testing equipment. Broadknowledge of cutting tool design and universal grinding proceduresthrough using multi-axis CNC equipment. Computer literate, able to enterprograms and directions. Strongly preferred candidates with previousexperience operating CNC grinding equipment such as; Walter, ANCA, Star,Schutte, Rollomatic, Saacke, Strausak.
