DescriptionSolid Sealing Technology (SST), a leading designer and manufacturer of small-scale electrical components for industrial, medical, and research facilities, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a CNC Machinist. As part of our team, you will explore new technologies, develop critical manufacturing skills, and play an integral role in the production process.ResponsibilitiesReads drawings, work instructions, and referenced procedures to determine requirements and to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mill and lathe and other mechanical equipment. Machines component parts, in-processing assemblies, and finished goods to meet internal and customer specifications. Also supports production operations by machining fixtures, reworking parts and assemblies, and salvaging components from nonconforming assemblies.Takes measurements of material and follows predetermined machining operation or determines the appropriate machining operations necessary to meet requirements.Programs, sets-up and operates one or more types of CNC production equipment. Selects appropriate settings and makes applicable adjustments as necessary. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.Troubleshoots and fixes mechanical issues.Inspects all work and routes parts to other operational areas according to work instructions.Records completion of work steps, rework, and scrap transactions, in computer system.Works in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing on custom parts.Maintains a clean and organized work area, follows and supports all quality and safety standards.Continually seeks process improvement to maximize efficiency and productivity.Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required. Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist, or other technical degree preferred.1-2 years of relevant experience using HAAS CNC equipment and Bridgeport mill required or any combination of education and experience approved by the Company.Ability to read drawings, work instructions, and reference procedures to determine requirements.Ability to program, setup and operate CNC machines.Ability to set up and operate machine tools for drilling, milling and grinding.Knowledge of properties of metal and other materials.Knowledge of reading calipers and gauges.
