Purpose
To plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods areproduced efficiently, on time and within budgets and to standards. TheProduction Supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate theactivities of production between machine operators by supervising dailyproduction schedules and ensure that inventory levels are managedproperly.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience in production andmanufacturing processes and techniques
Must have previous CNC machining experience
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee the day to day workflow of production staff
Manages Production operators
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed an inaccordance with company policy
Works with department leaders to monitor each department and makerecommendations to improve performance that impacts the organization
Position Responsibilities
Oversee the production process to ensure delivery of high qualityproducts that meet the customers needs
Ensures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delays
Collaborates with Customer Service and sales departments to identify andresolve quality concerns.
Identifies any bottlenecks or delays in production; ensures necessarylabor, materials and other resources are available to relieve productionbottlenecks and delays
Uses production planning and scheduling to limit material shortages
Ensures production machinery complies with professional and safetystandards
Effectively and clearly communicates potential risks in a timely manner.
Resolve employee, customer or contractor issues.
Coordinate with internal and external parties to exchange relevantinformation.
Prepare staff schedules and determine work assignments includingtimeline completions for projects.
Represent the organization in external relations including negations.
Act as liaison between departments or other groups to improve function,performance or communication.
Review applicable organizational policies and procedures ensuringaccuracy and relevance, communicate said policies and procedures,updating as necessary.
Ensure CARs (Corrective Action Reports) are submitted on time withproper resolutions
Tasks
Enforce safety and health regulations.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in theproduction or processing of goods, such as operators, or generalproduction workers.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activitieswithin or between departments.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequencesto meet production goals.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects ormalfunctions.
Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensurethat operators conform to production or processing standards.
Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safetyprocedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policiesand procedures for workers.
Keep records of employees\' attendance and hours worked.
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and otherrecords and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluatecurrent production estimates and outputs.
Req isition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records,and prepare management reports of production results.
Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based oncompany policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems,complaints, or grievances.
Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improveproduction methods, equipment performance, product quality, orefficiency.
Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hiring, evaluations, orpromotions.
Implement corrective actions to address organizational or departmentalissues.
Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions.
Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevantdepartments including procurement, distribution and management.
Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations and document poorperformance
Monitor and review the performance of staff
Implement and review standard operating procedures and ensure allprocedures are being followed.
Implement and enforce quality control to detect and correct problems
