Key JobResponsibilities Sets up, loads and unloads parts on Gantry CNCControlled Machine (Waldrich Coburg) and secures rigidly for machining.Establishes machine reference lines. Presets Tools. Receives workassignments; secures drawings, program manuscript; determines fixtures,type and number of necessary jacks, shims, clamps, parallels, blocks andetc.. Make close measurements to locate piece to predetermined pointsfrom the end, top and side of floor plate as directed by the manuscript.May secure planning assistance from the operator. Hitches and usingoverhead crane positions work piece on table laying out and scribingnecessary reference lines for machining assuring sufficient stock formachining operation and clearances. Secures part to floor platesufficiently exercising care to avoid distortion or springing of workpiece. Occasionally will assist operator by observing tool path decadedial switches/dial indicators and actuate the machine in semiautomaticoperation while operator observes the cut; assembles throw away bladesto milling cutters, indicates and tightens blades. - changes inserts,maintaining tolerances set in preset machine. Preset tools, loads themin tool changer, using machine computer. Removes piece from table,stamps if required, remove burrs, cleans out chips and coolant and setspiece aside. Applies rust preventative to machined surfaces, ifnecessary. Maintains inventory of fixtures and other clamping tools ingood operating condition. Performs above operations on large structures.Lubricate machine and equipment as needed, assists with cleaning andrepair of machine when required. Qualifications/Requirements CNC set upexperience preferred. CNC Machine Operation experience. Gantry Millexperience preferred. Ability to work 3rd Shift.
