Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Provides mentoring to the Metrology Technicians. • Provides technical and process direction to Metrology Technicians. • Analyzes and resolves, or assists workers in solving work problems. • Trains employees in operating procedures and ensures training effectiveness in application of job skills. • Writes metrology programs for individual equipment based on customer requirements • Collects and analyzes data to produce dimensional reports and process all relevant documentation • Manages, prepares and performs part measurements to support first article, PPAP, and APQP activities • Manages and performs Gage R&R studies • Determines the most appropriate measurement method based on part tolerances and other GD&T • Supports engineering department or project with additional sample measurements as needed • Creates and maintains company quality documentation, such as quality procedures, work instructions, etc. • Enforces and complies with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. • Works extended hours or weekends as needed. • This list is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed. • Camera and vision system experience • Injection molding experience • Geometry and Spatial reasoning Pluses • IS0 Experience preferred • Understanding of probs • Experience with 3D printing • Touch probs experience • Experience is more important than a degree. • Understand APQP (standardized validation or manufacturing) and PPAP

Qualifications: • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. • Sound knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, DOE, GR&R activities. • Sound knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes. Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical/engineering field preferred • High School diploma/GED required • Minimum 5 years experience using automated and manual metrological devices such as coordinate measurement machines (CMM), • Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role preferred • Experience with programming and operation of semi-automated laser and/or optical measurement equipment (preferred)
