This position focuses on excellence toward patient centered care and patient relationships. Duties include carrying out patient care tasks and medical orders as delegated by physicians, advanced practice providers and other health care personnel. Medical Assistant having completed a medical assistant program; or CMA with current AAMA certificate; or RMA with current AMT certificate: or EMT having completed an accredited EMT Program. BLS certification, current and maintained. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: o Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. o Conducts pre-visit planning, visit process, and other Care Model Process workflows. o Performs accurate and timely charting to support patient care and service. o Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize, and report variances. o Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting. o Accurately document observations, actions, and patient outcomes in EMR. o Identify patient education needs, provide instruction, and pend orders appropriately. o Stocks and cleans examination rooms between patients and at end of session. o Sterilizes/cleans equipment and instruments. o Monitors and requests supplies (or communicates to appropriate staff member) to ensure proper inventory and avoid interruption in service. o Complies with applicable legislation such as OSHA and infection control standards. o Assists in orientation and training of new personnel as assigned to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed. o Participates in quality improvement activities. o Participates actively in self-development and educational activities. o Complies with Code of Conduct and all policies, procedures and standing orders. o Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, holding themselves accountable. Requires normal vision and hearing range, and the absence of color blindness.
