Job Summary
This position supervises Peer Recovery Coaches and Behavioral HealthNavigators hired under the Transforming Health by Reducing Inequities for theVulnerable (THRIVE) program. The Supervisor develops care processes,organizes workflows by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedulesunder guidance from the Manager of Behavioral Health and the Medical Directorto support behavioral health care linkage to Denver Health and externalpartners. The THRIVE Peer Recovery and Crisis Team works to improve treatmentengagement among high-risk patient populations with behavioral healthconditions, with a focus on those who are experiencing homelessness and/orexiting corrections. The Team provides linkages to care, warm hand-offsduring acute care episodes and/or correctional care releases, acceptsreferrals from outreach teams, offers crisis intervention and assessment,and follows patients to support treatment entry.
Under general supervision, provides administrative, clinical, andsupportive supervision to employees in the Behavioral Health ServicesDepartment. Establishes a coaching/mentoring/learning alliance with staffto increase knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes. Motivatesemployees through open communication, timely feedback, and leading byexample. Participates in policy planning and implementation. Plans,schedules, coordinates, and assigns work to assure service provision,including coverage. Strives to create a positive customer experience bycommitting to higher standards and communicating compelling vision.
Essential Functions:
Provides administrative, clinical, and supportive supervision tobehavioral health/addictions program clinical staff. (10%)Assists in developing, implementing and interpreting policies,procedures, and programs to assure program compliance with all Denver Healthpolicies and the state of Colorado substance abuse/behavioral healthtreatment rules and regulations. (10%)Engages in leadership standard work as adopted by the organization (patientand staff rounding, visual management board, daily huddles). (10%)Routinely communicates with the management/leadership team regarding staffservice activities, and problems needing department leadership attention.(10%)Delegates authority and responsibility as appropriate. (10%)Builds productive cohesive teams, identifies areas for team and/orindividual growth and development, addresses staff performance, attendanceand behavioral issues, provides appropriate feedback and overseesorientation to job responsibilities, (35%)Routinely meets with staff for review of cases, problem solving, clinicalsupervision, job performance, ongoing communication and consultation. (5%)Plans, schedules, coordinates and assigns work to assure serviceprovision, including coverage. (5%)Monitors caseloads and recommends adjustments as needed. (5%)
Education:
Master's Degree RequiredCertified Addiction Specialist or Licensed Addiction Counselor Preferred
Work Experience:Three years of post-master's direct social work or counseling experience inan organized clinical setting Required
Licenses:
LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW State Licensing Board Required orLPC-Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC State Licensing Board Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of supervision tactics and ongoing development of supervisionabilities.Knowledge of clinical social work and/or clinical counseling and the patientpopulation served.Knowledge of applicable substance abuse treatment rules and regulationspertaining to the programs(s) supervised.Knowledge of change in leadership and/or learn management.Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.Skill in identifying problems and opportunities to improve care.Ability to encourage and enhance work performance through feedback,mentoring, coaching, and through example.
