We want you to contribute your experience to the important world of oral health research. The pay range for this position is $72,000 - $80,000 depending on the experience you bring to the position. This position can support a hybrid work schedule, with the minority of days working remotely and will vary depending on the research study assignments. This position is based on the University of Minnesota's East Bank campus in Minneapolis at the School of Dentistry. This Clinical Research Manager position provides professional research and technical support for research projects for faculty in the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. This research is done in the at the . POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Clinical Research Studies (60%) Manage day-to-day clinical research activities including marketing, recruitment, execution of informed consent, compliance with HIPAA requirements, determination of subject eligibility, monitoring subject responses to protocol defined treatments/interventions, scheduling required visits, follow-ups and maintaining subject tracking systems consistent with study protocol and timelines. Enroll participants into clinical studies with regards to established protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and University of Minnesota policies. Oversee and manages data collection activities. Develop and implement comprehensive timelines, project plans, and identify resources to manage and meet grant deadlines. Understand design goals and design strategies for meeting the goals. Modifies practices and procedures to improve efficiency and quality and have the discretion to make daily operational decisions. Complete sponsor case report forms (CRFs), monitoring visits and arrange for lab visits and imaging if necessary. Lead, train, and manage staff involved in activities such as recruitment, enrollment, transporting or contacting participants, and delivery of educational programs Obtain and maintain the necessary training for safety, regulatory and data management (i.e., Oncore and CITI). May be assigned these responsibilities: mentor/coach or provide guidance; lead project teams, committees and/or other collaborative efforts; interview applicants; assign, schedule, direct work, and/or evaluate the work of colleagues and/or co-workers. Study Regulatory Management 30% Oversee research activities to ensure the ethical conduct of clinical trials and compliance with GCP, federal regulations, and University and Clinical Partner policies and procedures. Prepare and complete IRB (Institutional Review Board) applications, informed consent documents, and data collection forms as well as completing continuing review reports and regulatory reports in a timely manner. Facilitate the successful implementation of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) approved protocol; review and execute the study protocols; assess study related needs; and provide input to facilitate implementation. Assure compliance with all regulations and sponsor stipulations as necessary. Prepare for regulatory reviews; and responding to requests for regulatory compliance. Interact with various agencies to advise, resolve, and liaise study needs or issues with Sponsors, Principal Investigators, and appropriate University departments (i.e., IRB, Dental School Contracts and Grants, Financial Operations, Sponsored Research). Maintain accurate lists and status of research activities. Maintain a regulatory/essential documents binder for each study. Complete other duties as assigned. Protocol Development 10% Assist with writing and editing research and technical materials including IRB applicatio s, protocols, consent forms, manuscripts, abstracts, website content, and user guides Manage additional workload as assigned during staffing changes Provide process improvement and project specialist perspective for workflow improvement Contribute toward Center's goals and strategy Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (please detail all the required qualifications on your application materials): BA/BS with at least 6 years of clinical research experience; or advanced degree with 4 years of clinical research experience. Experience as a licensed dental hygienist, dental therapist or dentist. Demonstrated ability to adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPPA, as well as University policies and procedures, particularly relating to human subjects and secure study files. Experience working well independently and with a team. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Eligible for or hold a current Minnesota Board of Dentistry Dental Hygiene, Dental Therapy or Dental license by start date. Experience doing dental-based clinical research. Possess in-depth knowledge of dentistry that can be readily applied as issues arise. Experience recruiting, consenting, and enrolling patients in clinical research studies. Project management experience in healthcare/academic environments.
