  Statement of the Job:

  The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Clinical Placement & Testing Coordinator .

  The Clinical Placement and Testing Coordinator is responsible for negotiating and arranging clinical experiences which meet the educational requirements of students enrolled in the nursing program. The Coordinator arranges clinical placements in a variety of healthcare settings. The Coordinator is responsible for complex communication and problem-solving to maintain positive working relationships with a variety of healthcare agency contacts. The Coordinator is also responsible for identifying at-risk students, implementing remedial services, and tracking student progress through the nursing program. The Coordinator organizes the utilization of campus resources for at-risk students. The successful candidate must be able to instruct at area hospitals.

  Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary is $50,000 plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs.

The surrounding town of Fort Kent is a welcoming town of approximately 3,800 people who are active in various festivals, community gatherings, and civic work. UMFK is embedded near the center of town allowing easy access to amenities and the community at large.

  Qualifications:

  Required:

  Bachelor’s degree in nursing

  RN licensure in the state of Maine, or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Maine

  Ability to instruct lab or clinical at local hospital

  Ability to work effectively with staff from healthcare organizations

  Supervisory experience

  Attention to detail

  Excellent written and oral communication skills

  Valid driver’s license

  Preferred:

  Experience in promoting student success and working with at-risk students

  Teaching experience
