About the Role & Program
Join an innovative and creative team! The Design & Delivery (D&D) team provides strategic, proactive support for The Walt Disney Company’s Global Real Estate requirements. Through collaboration with key partners and providing well-informed options, this team implements ground-up, tenant improvement, and technology capital construction projects. The Intern will support D&D Project Managers throughout all phases of project design and execution, including permitting, construction, and turnover.
What You Will Do
Ever wondered how Disney builds unique and thoughtfully designed buildings? Then the Corporate Real Estate Design & Delivery Internship is just for you! We are looking for an intern who is interested in developing thoughtful, groundbreaking spaces.
Support common goals and accept team achievement over individual needs
Update project reporting tools to improve cost-tracking
Develop procedures and organization to improve the Intern's role
Responsible for ensuring that project close-out packages are complete. This includes the identification of required close-out documentation, management of vendors for timely and complete submittal, and review of close-out documentation with collaborators, including final handover to operations
Support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers as needed, including facilitating project invoicing, change orders, and directives
Assist in project start-up activities such as WBS requests, security access, and kickoff meeting coordination
Required Qualifications & Skills
Demonstrate high client service orientation
Strong time management and organization skills. Possess the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven high degree of professionalism, integrity, and initiative
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint, Box, Bluebeam
Preferred Qualifications
Related experience includes construction project coordination, providing client services, and working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Education
Currently enrolled or graduated within the past six months majoring in Construction Management, Architecture, or EngineeringEligibility Requirements & Program Information
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) before participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 – January 2025
Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Able to provide own housing and transportation for work in the Burbank, CA area
