　　Nestled in the heart of East Sacramento Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital is a 313 bed acute care facility that provides a wide range of services with special advocacy for the poor and underserved. Mercy General is home to the nationally ranked Alex G. Spanos Heart & Vascular Institute. 　　Responsibilities

　　The incumbent performs chemical, microscopic, and/or bacteriologic tests and verifies results for use in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Coordinates the technical operations of the laboratory sections for which responsible. Demonstrates competency in patient testing for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.)

　　Work as a team to meet team goals and objectives. Work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require to meet turnaround time goals. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on a consistent basis in the performance of laboratory procedures. Treat co-workers, patients, visitors, and the public with dignity and respect. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital staff. Maintain patient confidentiality. Trouble-shoot procedures and instrumentation and problem-solve effectively. Work a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care.

　　Qualifications

　　Required:

　　2 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory

　　Bachelor's degree with a major in a biological science - 1 year internship in a hospital clinical laboratory

　　California license as a Medical Laboratory Technologist Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist Registration as a Medical Technologist by the Registry Board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists - CT MEDTECI;lic cls

　　Demonstrated knowledge of modern clinical laboratory technique and procedures, including accepted Quality Control practices and knowledge of statistics. Aseptic technique Proper safe technique in the handling of hazardous materials and biological specimens

　　Pay Range

　　$76.62 - $78.94 /hour
