  The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks applications to fill non-tenure-track, part-time Clinical Instructor or Lecturer faculty wage positions. We seek educators with clinical experience in the specialty areas of (but not limited to) pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatric-mental health, community/public health, general medical or surgical specialty.

  Three years of clinical teaching experience is preferred in one of the specialty clinical areas listed above.

  A Master's or terminal degree in nursing or related field is required. Applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in Virginia if applicable. Applicants who are eligible for Virginia nurse practitioner licensure; prescriptive authority and have national certification as a nurse practitioner are strongly encouraged to apply.

  Responsibilities potentially include classroom lecturing but primarily will require the direct supervision of students in the clinical practice setting, along with evaluation of required written work. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship.

  The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will require an Education Verification and Health Screen (Health Screen Policy (https://hr.virginia.edu/policy-och-002-faqs) ). A Drug Screen and Professional Licensure check will be required for Clinical Instructor.

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
