The University of Chicago\'s Department of Radiology is searching forfull-time diagnostic imaging physics faculty members at any rank. Theappointees will have clinical responsibilities including overseeing theQA/QC program in all diagnostic imaging modalities with an emphasis onnuclear medicine with respect to regulatory compliance, ACRaccreditation requirements, patient safety, image processing, andcontinuous image quality improvement in imaging protocols, as well asconsultations in equipment purchase decisions, acceptance testing,shielding design, and site planning. The appointees are required tofulfill the qualified medical physicist\'s role in the department\'sradiopharmaceutical therapy program and work closely with the radiationsafety office. Additional responsibilities include the teaching ofclinical diagnostic medical physics residents, radiology residents,medical physics graduate students, and technologists.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have aPhD in medical physics or related discipline, 2) be ABR certified oreligible in diagnostic medical physics or nuclear medical physics orABSNM certified in nuclear medicine physics. Dual-board certification inboth diagnostic medical physics and nuclear medicine physics ispreferred.
