Job Summary:
Support Logistics Operations Manager with executing projects including completion of standard work for assigned transportation team.
Supervising and training of logistics planners within the team.
Support scheduling of meetings and project management activities including updating project status.
Ensure that transportation decisions to include rates, on-time delivery, and quality create “best value” for both Trane and the customer.
Participate in continuous improvement and rapid improvement events and provide support including documentation, analysis, and follow-up activities.
Responsibilities:
Develop Leadership / people management skills through management of a smaller transportation planning team offering guidance as well as backup during vacations and cross training
Responsibility for physical movement of inbound shipments for assigned manufacturing and warehousing facilities (visibility).
Establish meaningful metrics for inbound transportation planning and provide timely reporting whenever an issue is identified
Learn long-range planning process and priority setting for the inbound transportation teamParticipate in all IT system enhancement projects related to inbound transportation.Other duties, as directed
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or related field
1+ year experience in Supply Chain or Transportation preferred
Strong Analytic experience preferred
Experience with Transportation Management System, preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft applications with emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
Ability to work within the appropriate level of independence
Ability to travel, as required Key Competencies:

Relationship Management- Works collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders within North America Logistics, shares transportation research with entire enterprise, manages “Trane Technologies voice” to carrier base.
