  Description:

  Responsible for management of clinical system-wide education functions within St. Mary’s Health Care System

  Participates and guides in performance improvement activities to facilitate effective use of resources to manage quality of care

  Facilitates and develops productive working relationships with system management, physicians, staff and the community

  Responsible for developing and directing crucial aspects of education including leadership development, orientation, skills competency, pursuance of nursing specific accreditation/certifications and directs learning experiences from affiliated colleges and universities

  Works closely with senior leaders and others to identify tactics to maximize the return on investment for patient education programs

  Participates and partners with Quality department for any hospital accreditation survey or inspection

  Position Requirements :

  A: Licensure/Certification/Registration : Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Georgia. BLS required.

  B. Education: . Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree is desirable.

  C: Experience: Minimum of five years experience in nursing. Minimum of one year of experience in nurse education or leadership (formal or informal) required.

  D. Special Qualifications: A high degree of initiative and independent judgment is required. Must have a broad knowledge of conditions of illness based on education and clinical experience. Must have a thorough understanding of the nursing process and know basic principles and practices of adult education.
