　　The University of Chicago\'s Department of Pediatrics, Section ofPediatric Emergency Medicine, seeks full-time Clinical Associates forrenewable two-year terms to serve as pediatric emergency medicinephysicians in our Pediatric Level I Trauma accredited emergency room atThe University of Chicago Comer Children\'s Hospital. Appointees will becollaborative physicians positioned to succeed in a busy, dynamicenvironment and advance the clinical goals of the Section of PediatricEmergency Medicine. These positions do not require teaching or scholarlyactivity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits)is dependent on qualifications.

　　UChicago Medicine is located on the main University campus in Chicago\'sHyde Park neighborhood. Comer Children\'s Hospital is a state of artfree standing children\'s hospital within the medical complex. ThePediatric Emergency Room treats more than 35,000 patients per year andis the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center on the south side ofChicago. It is a newly renovated facility with 22 general exam rooms,two procedure rooms, two triage rooms and two trauma/resuscitationrooms. The Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is committed tomedical education, clinical research, patient care, and communityservice. The section has a full accredited fellowship program and anurse practitioner program. The program has active pediatrics, med/pedsand emergency medicine residencies programs, and precepts University ofChicago Pritzker School of Medicine medical students.

　　Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have amedical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medicallicensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified in Pediatrics,and 4) be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric EmergencyMedicine and/or Critical Care Medicine, and/or have at least 5 years ofPediatric Emergency Medicine experience as an attending in a designatedLevel I Pediatric Trauma Center.
