Our Mission Statement: The Rescue Mission of Utica, Inc. is a Christian Ministry, established to proclaim, in word and deed, the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, by unconditionally endeavoring to assess and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those individuals seeking assistance.Job Title: Client Aid in our Drop In CenterJOB SUMMARY The primary role of this position is to serve and assist street homeless clients by completing the essential job functions and to maintain a safe and recovery focused program.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Assist clients with completing all paperwork, applications, recertification’s, obtaining identification paperwork, making phone calls, using computer, email etc. • Transport /Drive clients in Rescue Mission Vehicle as directed by Program Coordinator • Provide needed housekeeping/cleaning as assigned by Program Coordinator • Serve and clean up after client meals/snacks • Provide recreational programing for clients • Maintain the safety and security of the facility • Develop appropriate trust relationships with clients and maintain appropriate boundaries with the clients by upholding the regulations of the program and acting as a trusted source of support. • Maintain effective communication with Coordinator and other staff members. • Communicate crisis incidents, potential threats and other unusual incidents to Coordinators. • Maintain documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Use/wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times • Abide by all Mission and program policies, procedures and guidelines. • Attend and participate in regular meetings and trainings as requested. • Maintain a professional and approachable attitude • All other duties as requested by the program CoordinatorMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or GED • Genuine desire to pursue a career in human services • Experience working with special populations in the area of recovery, homelessness and mental illness preferred • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook • Clean/valid NYS Driver’s License Required • Enthusiastic support of our Mission StatementStatus/Hours: Part Time - must work every other weekendPay Rate and Benefits: We offer a competitive pay rate and comprehensive benefit package for eligible employees to include medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holidays and paid training.The Rescue Mission is an Equal Opportunity Employer
