Job Purpose:To provide mid-day and evening supervisory support of District custodial operations with the goal of ensuring safety, health and cleaning standards are achieved and aligned with district policy, procedures and goals.Duties:1. Supervise, lead and instruct custodial personnel throughout the district; monitor jobperformance by conducting on-site inspections; provide appropriate guidance and technicaldirection.2. Develop and deliver OSHA required safety and district procedural training opportunities toevening custodial staff.3. Participate in recruitment, selection, hiring and training custodial staff; develop and presentnew-hire substitute training to meet district and departmental standards.4. Deliver and track locations of district custodial equipment; make minor on-site repairs andadjustments and ensure proper care and maintenance of custodial equipment.5. Perform comprehensive site inspections and reports ensuring standards are being upheld.6. Coordinate evening custodial services for community use of district facilities; provide follow-upreports to assure accurate billing and employee compensation.7. Participate in collective bargaining and contract management processes, including attendanceat labor/management meetings.8. Observe, evaluate and report on custodial team performance; develop Plans of Improvementand counsel staff as needed, promoting success.9. Coordinate investigations and provide reports regarding alleged employee misconduct assuringdue process protections in law and the relevant collective bargaining agreement(s).10. Maintain records and prepare a variety of reports and recommendations on district staffingneeds, analysis of custodial workloads and service requirements.11. Assign, prioritize, track and close computer generated custodial work requests.12. Coordinate with district security in executing emergency response to fire alarms, medicalemergencies and catastrophic events while on shift; be on call 24/7 for same.OTHER FUNCTIONS:1. Participate and assist in All-Staff Custodial Training and Professional Development Seminars.2. Occasionally drive light duty district trucks or vans and delivers equipment and supplies.3. Assumes Custodial Manager duties in his/her absence.4. Conducts (non-inspection) visits to all sites assessing productivity, efficiencies and performance.5. Meet with vendors as needed.6. Assess and analyze custodial processes and efficiencies and make recommendations forimprovements.Skills/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.2. Post-Secondary training or documented experience applying basic management skills within an organization.3. Minimum of five years' experience in the custodial trade in a large, multi-site organization, two of which must be in a leadership or supervisory role.
