Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer witheight (8) + years of experience to join our growing Land Developmentteam in our Greenwood Village (Denver metro), Colorado office. On a caseby case basis, Merrick offers a hybrid work environment with the flexibilityto work from home and in the office. Relocation assistance will be consideredfor the ideal candidate.Typical salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.Base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, andexperJob DescriptionPerform assignments in the design of commercial, single family,multi-family and mixed-use developments - including roadway, domesticwater, sanitary sewer and storm sewer drainage system design.Must be capable of performing independent design tasks, reviewing thedesigns of others, preparing bid documents including drawings andspecifications, and organizing all drawings, reports, calculations,and associated project deliverables, after receiving initial instructionsfrom project manager, while receiving limited supervision.Provide input to and participate in strategic planning for the team and workclosely with Business Unit management team to identify growth, projectdelivery, staffing and financial performance.Prepare complex studies, reports, plans, specifications, quantities,and cost estimates for projects.Prepare scopes of work and resource estimates for projects and tasks.Must be capable of managing small to mid-size projects to be on budget and onschedule.Must be capable of directing, managing, and mentoring a team of designengineers and/or technicians on projects.Take ownership of projects from start to finish and communicate with clientsregarding project issues.Responsible for document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtainrequired permits.Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with theresponsibilities of the position.Must become knowledgeable of Merrick procedures, understand them and be ableto apply them when required.Must be capable of making sound engineering decisions, exerciseinitiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilitiesof the position.The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal skills to effectivelyinterface with clients and Local, State, and Federal government agenciesand be capable to lead project progress meetings, make projectpresentations, and provide clear written communications.Required ExperienceDegree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from an ABETAccredited Program is required.Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the design of commercial,single/multi-family, and mixed-use Land Development projects.Required Certifications: P.E. (Professional Engineer) State of Coloradoor the ability to obtain registrations within 12 months.Must have demonstrated success in leading project teams.Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.Well-organized, detail oriented and self-motivated professional.Strong desires to grow personally as well as professionally in a teamenvironment.Ability to lead creation of designs and drawings supporting our client'soverall project goals.Experience working on land development projects with a preference for ColoradoFront Range projects.Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,etc), and AutoCAD 3DMust be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.Physical RequirementsRequires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors withoutgetting distracted.May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.The physical demands described here re representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.Additional informationApply online only.
