  Job Description

  AECOM is searching for a Civil Engineer/Project Manager for full-time employment based in our Barrie, ON office.

  The appropriately qualified candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering, civil technology and construction management principles and is very familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, wastewater and storm water sector and in civil site plan development.

  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  Working knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment and in civil site plan development.

  Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities.

  Perform constructability reviews.

  Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.

  Prepare construction cost estimates.

  Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

  Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Requirements :

  Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering + 6 years of consulting experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal water infrastructure or water/wastewater treatment related projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible to register within 6-12 months

  Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

  Preferred Qualifications :

  Municipal Water/Wastewater Project Management experience

  Experience in Ontario is considered an asset

  Good working knowledge of industry standard and local municipal standards and guidelines are considered an asset

  Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint

  Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills

  Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen

  Excellent oral and written communication skills

  Experience with business development
