Summary You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will coordinate the response to design-build submittals, construction, contractor technical questions, shop drawing submittals and design revisions. You will analyze structural needs to determine types of facilities or systems most suitable to meet specific structure requirements. You will compose technical correspondence to communicate A-E designs, plans, and objectives to management officials, staff, and customers. You will serve as technical expert and perform design analyses and calculations for specialized structural projects. You will be responsible for the preparation of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types. There are occasional factory visits, and exposures to conditions in building and facilities that are under construction.
