JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary Position: Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center) is a division within Bank Street College of Education (the College), created to support Bank Street's public impact work through external partnerships. The Ed Center's mission is to disrupt inequities in school systems. The organization is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the work of the Vice President of the Ed Center. They will support fellow Ed Center senior leaders with strategic design and planning, internal operational systems, and divisional initiatives that advance the Ed Center mission and values. Please note this is an in-person role based in New York City.

Key relationships: The Chief of Staff will report directly to the Vice President and work closely with senior members of the broader Ed Center division, as well as the College.

Responsibilities: In collaboration with their supervisor, senior leaders, and Ed Center staff members, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for the following:

Provide executive leadership support to the Vice President in the areas of organizational culture, staff development, communications, implementation strategy, cross-divisional partnerships, etc. In partnership with the Vice President and working closely with leadership across the division, monitor the implementation of the division's racial equity action plan; Project manage emerging workflows and special projects aligned to key priorities and initiatives within the division. Engage Executive Directors in strategic planning for the Ed Center, including supporting initiatives to support the College's broader strategic plan; Partner with senior leaders to successfully meet all project milestones, including supporting internal ways of working and program implementation; Support with internal operational systems, including maintaining and revising ways of working as well as systems and processes for knowledge management, budgeting, analytical, and project management; Ensure internal coherence of design approaches and operational processes within and across projects; Promote internal divisional collaboration and foster positive culture through designing and implementing divisional retreats, learning experiences, and communications; Support in business development, including strategic planning conversations internally and with current and potential partners, budgeting, partnership design visuals, and communications; Support in the collection, synthesis, and analysis of impact data across the Ed Center to further the strategic analytical vision and Perform job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Skills Knowledge:

Ability to take complex information and synthesize it clearly to a variety of audiences Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various levels of an organization, experienced educators, and district teams Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills Comfort with Google Suite tools and Slack for team collaboration Master's degree in education or related field preferred Bachelor's degree or comparable experience is required Experiences:

At least three years of management experience Ability to design and manage complex and multiple projects independently Demonstrated ability to design systems or processes to solve a problem Flexibility in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines Comfort engaging in conversations around race, equity, and identity At least five years of work in education and/or nonprofit organizations Mindsets:

An intersectional, anti-racist lens and strengths-based approach to racial equity and identity work, team collaboration, and leadership A culturally responsive perspective to child and adult development and learning A reflective learner's stance while leading Salary Range: $100,000 to $115,000
