B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has an opening for a Chief Financial Officer out of the Towanda, PA office. *This is a full time position (40 hrs. a week; Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) with benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday, personal), and 401(k) with Agency contribution after one year of employment. *
B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving older adults in the four-county service area (Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Tioga Counties, PA). Applicant should have experience working with a non-profit organization.
This position is advanced accounting work in the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing and reporting the Agency's finances, fiscal analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, and engaging in cost analysis reduction and reviewing operational performance. This position exercises considerable independent judgment in planning and carrying out assignments.
Other responsibilities include:
Supervise and direct the work of the fiscal staffDevelop standard accounting proceduresPrepare Agency's budget and budget revisionsPrepare necessary financial reports and documentation to auditorApprove Agency expenditures, including invoices and purchasing reportsOversight of fixed asset inventoryProvide statistical reports, expenses and revenues to project expenditures and future trendsEngage in ongoing cost reduction analysis in all areas of Agency businessComplete business analysis of finances and programs to establish potential operational improvementEnsure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirementsResponsible for Agency's insurance coverages, i.e.: workers comp, professional liability, etc. Oversight of payroll operationsOversee and maintain Agency bank accounts and perform necessary banking activitiesPrepare and present financial reports to the Agency's Board of Directors. Applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, establish/maintain cooperative working relationships and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and MIP accounting software or related accounting software systems.
Selected applicant must pass a state police criminal clearance, child abuse clearance and if necessary, a FBI clearance. These clearances will be obtained with assistance from the Area Agency on Aging, and free of charge to the selected individual.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
