About You
We’re seeking a resulted-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Chemistry Intern. Based out of Torrington, Connecticut, you will be responsible for carrying out complex or specialized analytical tests; evaluation of products; and providing data needed for Application Engineering, Sales, R&D, and Marketing departments related to Bomar’s oligomer product line.
In addition, you will:
Effectively utilize standard laboratory and small scale manufacturing equipment and instrumentation.
Complete and maintain batch documentation associated with testing, collecting, and evaluating data for physical properties of new formulas or materials
Record all test and evaluation procedures, substrates, materials, and generated data in a properly maintained laboratory notebook
Prepare laboratory customer samples
Complete technical projects as assigned within established timeframes
Write reports and business correspondence
Organize and report data and conclusions in Word and Excel formats, utilizing appropriate charts and tables
Develop and maintain expertise in laboratory equipment operation and test methods
Maintain adequate stock of laboratory test supplies and material samples
Maintains the laboratories in a professional “customer ready” state, always clean, safe, organized and clutter free
Understands basic safety procedures, handling chemicals safely according to SDS or company procedures
Effectively presents information and respond to questions
Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Rising sophomore or higher working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or related STEM field, or equivalent job related work experience.
Successful completion of General Chemistry I and II coursework with Lab
Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data
Ability to work with chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols
Self-motivation to work in concert with team members to meet deliverables on time

This is paid summer internship assignment at $20 per hour.
