we are looking for you as a(n)Chemist I/II.
Come join our growing team! This role will support our automotive business team to help support product development and technical support covering a broad range of applications from adhesives, e-mobility applications, and silicones used in electronics.
As the world changes and new applications emerge, the demand for better performing materials remains constant. Everyday our lives are impacted and improved by the use of high-performance materials which utilize silicone solutions. Our silicone-based materials are essential and provide unique solutions to achieving performance in high demanding applications.
Essential Functions:
Perform a wide variety of lab responsibilities to support product development and technical service including formulation testing and reporting, sampling, good housekeeping skills and safe operation of a lab equipment
Collaborate with team on analysis, interpretation, and experimental plan
Document observations and measurements in technical lab reports, presentations, and electronic laboratory notebook
Order laboratory supplies and chemicals; maintain laboratory area
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3 years experience
Travel < 15%
Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge with designing experimental/testing plans and ability/willingness to execute a wide variety of lab related functions - synthesis, product characterization, application testing, and safe operation of lab scale twin-extruder
Experience in characterization of small molecules or polymers by common methods such as DMA, DSC, GC, IR, Microscopy, NMR, TGA, and viscosity
Independently provide clear interpretation of results and conclusions
Ability and preference to collaboratively work within a team setting
Well-organize and able to prepare technical lab reports
Excellent communication skills
Additional Requirements
Focus on safe lab operations, managing lab routines, including equipment maintenance
Ability to drive projects which meet customer and markets needs
General grasp of project management
Driven by curiosity and willingness to learn
Patience and high level of determination to provide clear conclusions
Willingness to operate and maintain lab scale equipment of a wide variety
General knowledge of relevant adhesive, potting, or silicone technology for automotive applications is a plus, but not required
