About Charge Registered Nurse Operating Room

  Job Description:Working with department manager, the RN - Coordinator Iprovides leadership and clinical expertise on their respective shift anddepartment. They are accountable for coordination of unit resources to ensurethat staffing to census and acuity is appropriate both clinically andfinancially. They function as clinical support for staff and are a role modelof competency and professionalism.

  Your day.

  As an OR RN Shift Coordinator / Charge RN you need to know how to:

  Supervise and/or provide direct patient care. Assist and support staff inresponding to and problem-solving situations related to patient/ familycomplaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, andHospital safety.

  Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or lead personfor disasters.

  Collaborate with the staf ing office and adjust numbers of staff for censuschanges during the shift.

  Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, pendingadmissions and discharges, any problems they need to be aware of, and anypatient information that will be helpful in making assignments.

  Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffingand timekeeping and coordinating unit activities.
