Starting Pay is $17.00/hr - $20.50/hr (Salary based off of Experience)
TITLE: Chaplain Intern (16-20 hours per week)
DEPARTMENT: Spiritual Life
MAIN FUNCTION: Leads worship services (including preaching) and engages in pastoral visitation, among other assigned duties.
REPORTS TO: Assigned Chaplain Supervisor and Director of Spiritual Life at Westminster Place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, leads, preaches and participates in worship services as assigned.
Sunday Vespers services
Wednesday Hymns & Devotions services
Thursday services on Healthcare floors
Special liturgical services or other seasonal or special services
Visits residents on assigned floors in health care center, assisted living and independent living.
Meets weekly with Spiritual Life staff to review schedules and assignments. Offers devotions when scheduled.
Meets regularly with assigned chaplain supervisor for field education site supervision.
Meets regularly with Lay Committee mentor(s) (approximately monthly)
Attends various meetings as selected or assigned; may include Assisted Living and Healthcare Resident Council, Ethics Committee meetings and care plan conferences.
Initiates and/or participates in other selected activities such as Bible Studies, Support groups, etc.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Enrolled in or completed an accredited program of theological or pastoral care studies, or CPE units.
May require frequent walking, climbing of stairs, kneeling, or standing to perform the duties of this job. May be necessary to push residents in wheelchair.
Demonstrates facility with the English language. Uses English appropriately in both speech and writing. Has the ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard and understood in worship settings and during visitation.
Is aware of Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients. Demonstrates behaviors and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies.
