VCA Povar Animal Hospital is seeking a talented Credentialed Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join and lead our team of CVTs VAs full time.

We are a 2-doctor full service veterinary hospital offering primary care, illness care, surgery and dentistry located in East Providence, RI.

Our hospital has large, newly renovated surgical and dental suites, five exam rooms and two treatment areas. We have an ultrasound unit, digital x-ray, new dental unit, digital dental x-ray, electrosurgical unit, in-house lab and TonoVet. Our team is small but mighty! We have a well-rounded group of amazing tenured staff as well as newer, eager team members.

We believe in hands-on training and in-house employee development, and we are eager to welcome a like-minded individual. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. We are looking for someone with the shared passion of providing hometown care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

In the supervisor role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Directing work flow on the floor

Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills

Help with the interview process for potential new hires

Technician Scheduling

Assists in staffing and coverage where needed

Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training

Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience

Mentoring technicians within the department

Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service

Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
