Our client in Hibbing is looking for a Certified Public Accountant to take charge of corporate accounting functions. Serves a chief financial reporting officer for the Commission. Manages rate structures and assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to provide adequate cash flow, asset replenishment, and long-term financial stability. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls and policies to facilitate performance reporting. Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; revenue collection forecasts, financial analysis, and consolidating financial data; recommending financing plans. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Responsibilities include: Managing capital asset reporting and annual capital additions and retirement processes in accordance with FERC, established utility, and government accounting standards. Chief accounting responsibilities for journal entries and general ledger reconciliations and subsidiary accounts related to postings from payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Managing cash flow and treasury functions Perform monthly and year-end general ledger processing and closing. Advise on Practices and procedures of billing and collection.
