Job Description:The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary forcardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional levelrequiring some proctoring and supervision of technical detail. The Specialistperforms a variety of technical procedures that require some independentjudgment. The CV Invasive Specialist assumes responsibility and initiative fordesignated areas and procedures as required.
Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Providespatientcare under the supervision of the RN.Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascularprocedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions duringclinical procedures. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control roommonitoring and documenting procedure images and events.Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about theexpectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and postprocedure physical conditions.Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintainsappropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according todepartmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potentialareas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revisedto improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that maycreate problems for patients and/or staff, and takes appropriate actions. .Promotes mission, vision, and values of and abides by service behaviorstandards.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentRegistered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV SpecificcertificationRCIS or RCESCurrent Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months ofhire in state of Colorado
Preferred QualificationsAssociates degree preferredTwo (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab is preferred
