As a Catering Back of the House Supervisor, your role is crucial in overseeing all activities in the back-of-the-house operations for our account. You will be the leader providing guidance and direction to our utility and culinary team, encompassing tasks such as hiring, training, development, coaching, and counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
Strictly adhere to HACCP guidelines to ensure the efficient, safe, and sanitary production of food, including purchasing, receiving, food storage, and facility maintenance.
Assume a leadership role in guiding and supervising the utility and culinary team, which includes responsibilities such as hiring, training, development, coaching, and counseling.
Oversee inventory management, ordering and purchasing, food cost controls, and sanitation practices to maintain operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
A degree in Culinary Arts is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
Possess a minimum of three years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
Proven expertise in high-volume purchasing, food storage, inventory control, and maintaining sanitation standards.
Self-motivated, capable of multitasking efficiently.
In-depth knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles.
Physical capability to lift, bend, and carry up to 40 lbs., along with the ability to manage the proper storage of food items as required.
Strong supervisory, leadership, hands-on management, and coaching skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in various computer programs, including Microsoft Office, e-mail, and internet navigation.
Adept in financial management, budgeting, and food cost control practices.
Unwavering commitment to personal integrity and ethical behavior.
Possession of ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a valuable addition to your qualifications.
