  Summary Statement

  Summer is almost here and the City of Boise Aquatics team is looking to staff the city pools. Join us as a Cashier/Attendant at one of four outdoor pool facilities!

  Greets pool customers, issues swim passes and collects pool user fees

  Open to all interested persons age 15 and older

  Works a minimum of 20 hours per week

  Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends

  Is designated as At-Will

  Locations:

  Borah Pool

  Fairmont Pool

  Ivywild Pool

  Natatorium Pool & Hydrotube

  Essential Functions

  Staffs front counter at pools and greets customers. Collects pool fees and makes change. Answers phones and provides information to the public. Processes activity registrations quickly and accurately using city database. (100%)

  Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time. Total Percentage = 100%

  Requirements

  Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

  Six months of cashiering experience.

  Working knowledge of customer service techniques; cash handling procedures.

  Ability to deal with the public, coworkers and supervisors in a friendly and tactful manner; perform basic mathematical calculations; operate a Point of Sale system and calculate change quickly and accurately; exercise some independent judgment and follow city policies; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

  One year of cashiering experience; experience with updating and maintaining databases.

  Special Requirements

  Applicants must be able to pass:

  City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

  Physical Efforts

  The noise level is frequently moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision. Employees will sit, stand, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

  Working Environment

  The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures and in wet and humid conditions.

  This position works: This position works evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer season

  19-Hour Temporary

  All temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits.

  4-Month Temporary

  All 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment.

  8-Month Seasonal

  In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage.

  9-Month Temporary

  In addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits.
